World Refugee Day, UK

Through Casebook, the UK partner Merseyside Expanding Horizons, has been involved in Festival 31 in order to celebrate World Refugee day. Festival 31 brings together refugees, wider communities, individuals, grassroots small organisations and larger organisations in order to raise awareness of Refugees’ issues.

Casebook - 2. partner meeting in Istanbul

The second partner meeting on the project CASEBOOK took place on the 9th and 10th of July 2015 in Istanbul.

In the project a case book for educational and vocational guidance with migrants will be developed. Accompanying two e-learning-courses will be developed, which are offerd on the one hand directly as self-learning training to career counselors and on the other hand to trainers and training centers. By the inclusion of specific cases from the case book all key elements regarding consultation with migrants will be emphasized.

Fascist March Foiled in Liverpool, United Kingdom

On the 15th of August a “White Man March” was organized by right wing fascist group National Action to parade though Liverpool’s city center with 150 members expected to attend protesting against the ethnically diverse and left wing nature of the city, making it potentially the largest visible action of its kind in the UK in decades.

Guidance and dropout students, Italy

Dropout students are defined as those who have decided to give up school because of personal difficulties, relational conflicts, lack of interest in education and so on. However, not only school does contribute to dropout.

Among the reasons related to school, we can list: still predominant frontal lectures (and the consequent competence of teachers), relationship and interaction models, schools that find it difficult to work online with other local services and actors, school integration models.
